Two years ago, I received a message on my WhatsApp with a list of answers. At the beginning I wasn’t sure what the list is for, after asking the person who forward it to me it turned out that we had just all received an email to complete the Aggie Honor Code exam. Someone started spreading the correct answers around. At the beginning, I resisted and tried to solve the exam on my own. I didn’t score a 100% and the exam started to walk me through each slide. I eventually gave in and looked at the message I received and about 30 seconds later I was done. I defeated the whole purpose of the test.
P.S. The remainder of the essay is published in 'Best Writing: A Thousand ways to begin' under the title the vicious cycle
